Potluck
It’s a month with five Sundays so we’re just going to eat together. It’s a potluck, so if you’re able, bring something to share (food or drink). We’ll provide some BBQ meat (I’ll make some achiote chicken + tofu). We’ll be gathering up at Joni & Jim Stickney’s house this time––direct message me, Emily (emily@allsoulsparish.org) for their address.
Hang out
This month we’ve moved our last Wednesday of the month beer garden hang out to All Souls where we’ll have a watch party to see the new and not yet widely released film, “1946: A Mistranslation that Shifted a Culture”. The film dives into the story of how the word “homosexual” entered the Bible. Discussion with the DIRECTOR (!) via Zoom to follow + a watch party for the USA v. Netherlands world cup game :) BYO Dinner. Drinks will be provided.

Evening Prayer
Evening Prayer is a prayer liturgy taken from the Book of Common Prayer. We’ve adapted it and pulled some resources from other prayer books, including the New Zealand Book of Common Prayer. On these Evening Prayer nights, we’ll pray through the liturgy and have a few simple songs, usually sung a capella. We’ll meet in the Chapel off of Cedar Street at All Souls.

Easter Sunday Eucharist
Join us for a Eucharistic worship service in our chapel off of Cedar Street.
The Great Vigil of Easter
The Great Vigil of Easter is when we hold vigil together outdoors around a fire, remembering the stories of salvation that we have inherited, celebrating our baptism, and remembering those who have gone on before us in death. Then, out of that darkness, we head inside the church celebrate, together, the moment of Easter––of Jesus’ resurrection to Life. Afterwards, we’ll celebrate with drinks and snacks in the parish hall. This service is long, but honestly, is spectacular, and not for the faint of heart :)
Good Friday
On Good Friday, we follow the story of Jesus’ death. We’ll do this upstairs with the larger All Souls crew with a contemplative service from 12-3p. This three hour service is a drop-in (or stay the whole time) service of prayer, silence, poetry, song, and reflections by different parishioners.
Then, at 7:30p we have our solemn Good Friday liturgy and eucharist.
Maundy Thursday
A tradition at All Souls, and around the world, is to follow the path of Jesus in his final week on earth. We start with a meal together (at 6p) in our Parish Hall, followed by a Eucharistic service, with foot washing (at 7:30p) in the church. At the end of the service, the presiders will strip the altar and the choir space and process the reserved sacraments down to our downstairs chapel where anyone can keep vigil through the night of Maundy Thursday in remembrance of the events after Jesus’ betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane and his arrest.
Palm Sunday Eucharist
Join us for a Eucharistic worship service in our chapel off of Cedar Street.
Hang out/book group
Come hang out with us at Fieldwork in Berkeley. A few of us will be posted up to hang and talk, process the world and all that happening. This is the second of our book discussions! For January, we’ll be discussing Howard Thurman’s book Jesus and the Disinherited (in addition to just hanging). Anyone is welcome––this is a family friendly spot where you can get drinks and dinner.
